The Office of Public Affairs and Government Relations supports Duke University’s dynamic educational, intellectual and service missions by providing honest, timely and useful information to all of its internal and external stakeholders and audiences, by helping the university and its leadership understand, anticipate and manage issues, by advocating for public policies that advance the university's strategic goals, and by providing leadership to Duke's network of communications staff. The Office of Public Affairs and Government Relations is the Duke hub for communications and government relations, including offices responsible for federal, state and local government affairs, local community relations, campus news and communications, digital media, marketing and photographic services. The Vice President for Public Affairs and Government Relations also serves as Duke's chief spokesperson.
